Hi, I’m Aileen. I’m a 30 something married Esthetician.
I’m an optimistic and adventurous gal. I’m quirky, classy, and full of random information. What I love most: skin, beauty, health, and education. I know, who doesn’t? Lets face it, some people know skin. Some really don’t. I’d love to share my helpful hints for the ultimate how-to skin and health guide. From routines, skin types, breaking down ingredients, and enhancing your beauty using the right products. I believe healthy skin is the most beautiful skin. Taking care of your skin will help boost esteem, keep an eye out for cancer, need less makeup, and of course, take better selfies! Skincare isn’t cheap, so make the most of everything. Get more for what you pay for. Know what you’re looking for.
Here I’ll share my what I’ve learned after more than a decade working in Skin and Beauty. I was a Regional Coordinator covering the U.S. West Coast for an internationally sold brand. I educated and managed 355 Sephora, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus locations across Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Arizona. I trained and educated Estheticians, Cosmetologists, Makeup Artists, and even clients who would pay to attend Master Classes with ME! I traveled with a Hollywood skin guru across the U.S. as she did book signings, held Master Classes, and special appearances. I love and still carry with me her words of wisdom. It was an incredible experience learning, traveling, and growing in such a creative atmosphere of a small business gone corporate.
Even before that I learned proper skincare and makeup from modeling at 14. I was taught the importance of skincare and of a consistent regimen. I was trained to take care of it now so I could preserve my beauty. Makeup was the temporary fix that I used to enhance my beauty and show trends. I can’t say I’ve always maintained a proper regimen, but I did however learn that when I took care of my skin, I would get results. “Good things happen to those who remove their makeup before bed.” Seeing results helped me stick to a routine. And the more I took care of my skin the less concealer and foundation I needed.
From there on I was known as the Make-Up Queen and would do friends makeup for events. When I began working in the bridal world I started doing customers’ makeup for their big day. I became a Makeup Artist for Lancome and learned simple, complex, and everything in between from National Makeup artists. I even trained under Oprah’s personal artist! I learned the importance of product knowledge, professional makeup application, formal, and daily. I was doing makeup daily for weddings, dances, or even first timers who needed a makeover!
Outside of work I was doing wedding makeup and voluntarily teaching “Health How To’s” workshops to developmentally disabled adults. These workshops covered basics about caring for yourself that schools somehow never cover. For example: how to shave, washing your face, and explaining why alcohol and toner aren’t the same thing, even if they both “smell stingy.”
I was surrounded by wonderful, beautiful, and strong women who constantly inspired and contributed to my wealth of information. It was so much art and creativity. I am so fortunate to have been there at the right time building all the right relationships and education.
Please feel free to sit back and click-through the site. Let me know what you think and what you’d like to learn about next. I love learning and sharing.
